Facebook, The Trendiest Socializing Media Site Ever

posted on 16 May 2012 in Arts and Entertainment

Internet media is growing fast these days one can hardly say there is no improvement. Look at Facebook for example, this is one media site that has found ways to amaze people and it is at the top of any socializing site. They had a very drastic improvement Just in a matter of years and the good thing about is that they keep changing their trends and putting in new things every day. Twitter is trying to keep up and sooner or later it will get to where facebook is too but I am still yet to see that site that is competing with facebook. When I got facebook headquarters address I decided to check it out and it just blew me away, it was totally awesome and the people there are quite talented. I will say it over and over again I don&rsquot think any socializing media site can overshadow facebook not even if people start paying to get registered on the site. The brains behind facebook are geniuses and they just stand out among many others.

Get All the Benefits of a Car Without Owning One

posted on 14 May 2012 in Cars and Transport

You know all the benefits a car can bring to a person: not having to rely on public transport system (bus, train, or subway), the liberty to go everywhere you’d like, without having a schedule. Hey, you can even make a little money if you take hitchhikers (of course, it won’t cover the expenses of the trip) and get to know new people. If you own one you are also well aware that cars don’t run on gas only. I’m talking about TCO or Total Cost of Ownership. TCO comprises of insurance, taxes, maintenance, depreciation, time invested in doing all this, and so forth. These costs occur regardless of using or not using that car. What if you could benefit from all the advantages a car has to offer but without having to support TCO? Hire a car and you are accomplishing just that. Or even a van - I frequently use a van hire firm in Hinckley where I live. Just pay for gas and rent and you are ready to go. Pay only when you need it. And of course, because you don’t own that car, you could push that car without fear of repairing yourself (sooner rather than later). You will have to repair the car no matter how carefully and you drive – nothing last forever, you know.

Mirrors to Fit Any Designer Interior

posted on 13 May 2012 in Home and Garden

An unusual mirror always looks unique and interesting hanging on any wall, or even placed on the floor or angled against a wall.
Mirrors can be made with a variety of unusual frames. Some include, industrial metal gear wheels, antique French wooden window frames, even Parisian French doors can be transformed into mirrors. A pair of shabby chic Parisian casement doors in antique and silvered oak can be turned into a major design feature when mirrors are added to the missing panes of glass and then the whole feature is hung on a large interior wall. The mirror panels themselves can be either modern clear or smoked glass mirrors or even better, in many instances, is the use of antique foxed glass mirror panels, which add a real sense of drama and age to the finished feature.
Feature mirrors have for many years been traditionally placed over a fireplace, but a feature mirror today look stunning hanging on any wall!

Buying Gifts for Someone Who Already Has Everything

posted on 13 May 2012 in Fashion

Christmas day is approaching and the time when everyone gets excited and goes overboard to get that perfect gift for loved ones. As it is a more generalized occasion, as opposed to Mothers Day, Fathers Day or Valentines Day, the selection of who to buy for or what to buy is limitless. So what do you give to someone who already have everything? This could be someone like your boss who can effortlessly afford to buy the expensive perfume that you were thinking of getting her. This could be the boss who already own various Rolex watches. So should you get? Maybe even consider making a gift - I have my jewellery tools and like to do this sometimes for my female friends. Obviously, it should be something that has sentimental value and could warm the person to you. You have the added advantage in this case of gaining points which could improve your working conditions or salary. You could simply send them a silly video saying how much you appreciate them and this does not have to be expensive. A good place to find creative persons at a good price is on www.fiverr.com. So for a little as $5, the rewards are limitless. Also, a group of employees could get together and tape a funny video about all your boss's wacky ways and what you love most about him/her. Remember to keep it light and FUNNY! This would certainly be a gift that would last the entire year and make both you and your boss happy in the long run.

Aerosmith: Unpretentious Rockers Deserve Some Credit

posted on 13 May 2012 in Arts and Entertainment

The Aerosmiths album - O, Yeah! Greatest Hits - is my favourite album of all time. It brings great beats, basslines and lyrics together into one amazing CD with all of the best Aerosmith classic rock songs. I'm proud of my proletariat tastes in music amongst my musician friends. I've worked in a few mastering studios myself, so I know my stuff when it comes to recording.

I love Aerosmith for their unpretentious, straight-up attitude. Songs like Jaded, Walk This Way, and Angel make me appreciate classic rock and this amazing band. Every song will have you singing along to the amazing lyrics sung by Steven Tyler and awesome guitar and drum solos by the rest of the band will have you air guitaring all around your room. Other than hard rock there are also many blues songs in the CD such as I don't Want To Miss A Thing and Crazy. These songs mix in well after a hardcore rock song. I highly suggest you listen to this album as it shows how rock and roll should be done.

On Personalizing Your Office Space

posted on 7 May 2012 in Business and Finance

One of the things I've noticed in the office is that people simply treat an office like something they go to without thinking it is their own. People go into their cubicle and have their computer and work. I think it's important to make your office much more personal. Have pictures of your kids up, put up a fun poster. This not only applies to an individual cubicle, but all around the place have things that make the people working there a little bit more interested. This way, just maybe, the office becomes less of a place that you dread to go to and more of an extension of your normal life. Having attended a prince 2 training course, I couldn't help but think personalizing your space helps you feel more comfortable. I think all office goes should try their best to personalize their office and should be encouraged and demonstrated by their superiors. However, we don't need to make it into Office Space where if someone doesn't have enough 'flair', so it should definately be a suggestion, not a rule.

How I Make Christmas Shopping That Much Easier

posted on 6 May 2012 in Fashion

I hate the hustle and bustle of the holidays. For that reason, I try to do my shopping throughout the year. Not only does the rude crowd of people cause me undue stress, but I do not like the fact that the Forever Unique store is at one end of the mall, the book store on another end, and the toys on a completely different floor. No, I would rather wait for a good sale, match it with a coupon, and just go for one or two items at a time. That may not be efficient, but it is much less stressful! I like getting the summer end of season clearance deals. Children's books and board games frequently go on sale in the summer. This summer I was able to get games and books for eighty per cent off. It really is worth it to spread out your shopping throughout the year. Not only does it cause less stress, it saves a lot of money!

The Yellow House On The Quiet Street In The Busy Town

posted on 20 April 2012 in Construction and Industrial

I live in a yellow house on a quiet street in a busy town. And I love it! I love the location of this house. I can get to a grocery store or fast food restaurant in 3 minutes or less but the street is a quiet street with hardly anybody walking by throughout the day. As a worker for a roofing services company, I do know a bit about the quality of build when I view a house, and this house is very sturdy.

It has three bedrooms which is perfect for our family. Anymore would be too much to clean and any less would just be stressful! I love that the bedrooms are upstairs and that while my baby naps I can vacuum downstairs and it doesn't wake her up! I also love that we have trees in the backyard that provide shade most of the day. It really helps with air conditioning bills! It is an old house and a creaky house and is painted an interesting shade of yellow but I love my house!

My Tentative Steps on Another DIY Project

posted on 18 April 2012 in Home and Garden

DIY are three little letters that fill me with a sense of trepidation. We recently got some new Fusion stair parts installed, and the workers who installed it did a fantastic job - but watching them left me nonplussed - I felt that DIY looks so tough!

And having said that, I had a little DIY project of my own to fulfill. I looked online for directions on how to put my address on the sidewalk. Now tell me that's not faith. I copied the directions from the Internet, went to True Value hardware and spoke with a young lady who assisted me. I need outside concrete paint, stencil, and reflective plaint. I listened to her instructions very carefully, purchase the materials came home and it started raining....well I couldn't work that day, my husband drove up from work and asked "what are you doing?". Well can't you see what I doing? I got instructions from DIY (like he knew what DIY was or is) and I'm going to put our address on the sidewalk. Well the next day I got the paint and took everything outside. I had a seat for me to sit in, a kneepad, ruler, paint thinner, gloves: everything DIY told me I needed for the job. Now it wasn't cut and dry or like I thought it was going to be. I have in the past tried many DIY projects, and they worked so I knew this one would also. I sprayed the sidewalk with the white paint, waited for it to dry, by the way I set the timer in the kitchen ok the sidewalk dried, I already had the numbers taped together I put those in the white paint, sprayed the numbers on the white paint and wouldn't you know it I needed 2 4's and there was only one in the package so I improvised by using another letter in that spot and sprayed three letters waited to them to dry took the number that I needed off after it had dried and resprayed the 4 again and that worked. DIY instructions are simple you know the book Any Dummy can do it. Well I'm not a dummy but I did it. Thank DIY for explaining the instructions that even a lil old lady can understand.

Madeline and Her Equally Hysterical Mother at Home

posted on 11 April 2012 in Technology

Madeline and Jessie were out in the streets of UK. They were trying to find a way on how to call their parents and let them know that they have arrived safely there for their trip. Their problem was that Madeline's phone was not working once they arrived at the airport. She was already in panic when they were through with the check out of their luggage. She knew that her mother would be in a terrible state when they didn't call to let them know how they were. We should call sony ericsson support uk center, okay Madeline? Just breathe in and breathe out. Jessie tried to convince her friend that everything was going to be fine. They asked their teacher at that time if they could use her phone to call. Luckily, the teacher gave them the phone and allowed her to call her mother. Like what they predicted, Madeline's mother was hysterical. She was just all over the place. Jessie just shook her head and whispered to herself, like Mother, like daughter...always.

The disabled need total care in the society

posted on 11 April 2012 in Business and Finance

Being less fortunate in the society is the worst feeling I know that one can ever have. Children with special needs are one of those who may face hell on earth if they are not well taken care. There situation is more hurting when they have no one to take care of them and make them feel wanted and important in the society. But for states who know how to take care of their citizens, they know the best thing to do to ensure that they are well taken care of. But with the provision of grants special needs children, the situation of the less fortunate children has always improved. This is the service that they would always need for them to stay a comfortable life like any other person. And more still, the government provisions can never be enough if they face discrimination in their neighborhood. This means that they have to receive total care form the people living around them for them to always feel at home anywhere that they are living.

The Place for Sports and Brews

posted on 10 April 2012 in Food and Drink

Rookie's, a sports bar (and grill) in Oceanside, CA has 104 TV's including a huge flat screen directly over the bar. They have about 25 beers on tap and a full menu kitchen. I know it sounds like I am beating their drum, but I do not have an ownership interest or anything. I am like their 'Norm' (Cheers reference). I always sit at table 34 and they bring my beer without even asking what I want, and sure enough the beer arrives on one of those rubber placemats in perfect form, nice and cold as I like it. The food is typical bar stuff. You go for the camaraderie and friendship - not to dine! The only downside (to people my age anyway) is that around 6pm, it turns from a great neighborhood hangout to a total nightclub / rap music place. Its close proximity to Camp Pendleton makes it a regular nightspot for Marines. Younger, different music tastes, etc. It's hard to explain. It's like a Jekyll and Hyde thing. If you are 21 - 35, go after 6pm. If you are 35 and up - hang during the day and then leave before dinner time.

Renewable Energy: Solution for Mass Energy Supply Or Not?

posted on 10 April 2012 in Technology

Energy from renewable sources (from sun, wind, biomass, etc.) is often proclaimed as solution for sustainable development in future - indeed, there are many companies like Myriad CEG who are already supplying solutions to both residential and business properties. But are we REALLY there yet? I think not. The first overall impression is that energy from those sources is cheaper is true in the part that you pay smaller bills after the installation of renewable energy production systems however, the investment in those installations can be returned through the reduction of bills in a period of around 10 to 15 years and this is really a long period (even without calculating costs of financing). It is reasonable to expect that in the future situation will change. If constant increase of fuel (gas and oil) prices continues, and if prices of systems for production of energy from renewable sources continue to decline, this ratio will be more favorable. For the moment, investment in renewable energy for personal use, is very questionable. On the other hand there is production of energy from biomass. In this part I do not see sense in burning, for example corn, when prices of food are constantly rising.

I Need to Find Myself a New Bed

posted on 7 April 2012 in Construction and Industrial

What I must want to change in my house is the furniture. I also need to put up some shelves in the living room (it's so cluttered without shelves) with the use of some hammer fixings. My home has gotten rather old as I have lived here for 11 years, so all of it has either gotten slightly broken, scratched or simply outdated. I suppose it has never bothered me much, as I’m more of a practical person, and as long as everything works, it’s fine with me, but it does bother me at times. Take for example, my bed. It’s a rather old futon, that’s not in that great of a shape. The fabric on the mattress is slowly tearing from constantly laying on it, and the frame doesn’t seem as sturdy as it used to. But for some reason, I’ve never gotten around to looking for a replacement. I mean, it’s not like I often walk into furniture stores or nothing, so you can’t really casually stumble upon a new bed, you need to actively go look for one. So I suppose what I most want to change about my house is my old, rickety bed.

Nina Has a Three Year Technical Support Contract for Her Computers

posted on 5 April 2012 in Technology

I am not entirely certainly what Nina does as a freelance worker but in her apartment she has about 3 desktop computers and one laptop. With all the computers she has in her position she said that she has to buy a basic IT support package from PC Quickbuys to ensure that if something goes wrong with her computers she has someone to turn to. Although Nina is highly skilled in photo editing, web development and web design she has no technical knowledge whatsoever when it comes to the hardware configuration as well as internet connectivity. And since her computers are all over a year old they no longer have warranty support coming from the manufacturers. Buying individual extended warranty support for each of them is bound to be more expensive than buying a single IT package. I asked her how long her IT package will last and she said that for all four computers she purchased a three year contract and that placed her mind at ease knowing that whatever happens to any of her machine she is covered for technical support.

Using LinkedIn For A Professional Edge

posted on 3 April 2012 in Arts and Entertainment

I have been using LinkedIn for about six months now. I became familiar with the website upon speaking to a colleague about ways to gain a professional edge. LinkedIn allows me to display my skills and strengths, as well as my professional history, AND give me the ability to find key service providers like the creative design agency I recently hired. When someone searches for my name in a search engine, they are led to my LinkedIn page. This gives me a sense of professionalism. In a sense, it allows me to display my resume to the world. I feel that potential clients who review my LinkedIn profile will see me as a hardworking individual. I have definitely noticed an increase in business since joining LinkedIn. A few of my clients have even mentioned seeing my profile and being impressed. I strongly suggest LinkedIn to any business professional, whether they are a seasoned pro or they are simply trying to get a foot in the door with making a name for themselves.

Everyone Hates Spam But It Does Work

posted on 31 March 2012 in Internet Related

Everyone has gotten use to getting unsolicited emails, but this is NOTHING to do with legitimate email marketing (double opt-in emails). Email marketing does have a place and can make money if done properly. One option is to personalize mass email to that the recipient name is clear on the email and a reference to their personal life or the relationship between the company and the client. For cold emails it is best to establish a connection with the new customer by mentioning a service they already have or a client that they know. Another method is the newsletter format. In many ways it is between an internet advertisement and a newspaper where company information and deals are advertised. If you can offer the clients free service then they may be willing to subscribe to other services for a fee. The key is to get the customer's attention fast so that the email is not deleted.

There are rights for consumers which are not taken lightly

posted on 29 March 2012 in Business and Finance

Consumers are probably the most respected and protected people here in this state. This is because they have so many laws that favor them from retailers who always take advantage of them as they are sure most of them do not know the market value of whatever it is that they are buying. The consumer advice uk office is also keen to ensure that they have given out all of the information that they can to their consumers on the rights that they have and also how they should ensure that they practice this without feeling guilty about it because they have the right to do so. With all these things in place, it is already clear that all of the people who are considered as consumers are really valued and they usually cover the highest percentage of the state of the economy so that is why they are protected from being misused to make it easier for them to be relaxed while they are buying products and applying for services that they need from their retailers and producers.

The best is what I would always settle for

posted on 29 March 2012 in Food and Drink

As long as I am in a place that I can trust, as long as it is a place that I will safe in, I never question. I want mu things to be done well and their course to be smooth. Whatever that I look for should be perfect and have no mistakes. When I look for a caterer in Derby, I look for the best of the best. I have to find out through those who have used their services and they tell me where to find the best. I don't like disappointments and so I would never take it if things go wrong. This I avoid thorough search and hiring of the right people to work with me. If I get good from these experts, I will be sure that my guests and those that I care about will get the same good things in life. The best would be looked and fought for and I am ready to do this to get it. I never play with life opportunities no matter how small they are.

Dovahkiin the Warrior: Savior of Skyrim

posted on 25 March 2012 in Fashion

If I were going to a fancy dress party, I would undoubtedly go as Dovahkiin – the main hero from the game Skyrim. The costume consists of a set of metal armor pieces, a sword and shield, and a horned, mask-like helmet. I would probably have to make the outfit out of resin (or paper mache, if time is short), but I could easily buy the weapons from a toy shop. I would be the first to admit that I do not quite have the muscled build needed to fill out the costume, but it would not matter, as the thrill of dressing up like a legendary warrior and imitating the character’s trademark shout would be fun enough to make me immune to criticism! Other advantages of the costume include the ability to conceal your identity, thanks to the nature of the helm, and the ability to start playful fights with any other party-goers who happen to be video game characters or sword-wielding warriors.
